This study investigates how Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices can enhance incident management as a governance mechanism within Proprietary Software Ecosystems (PSECO). These ecosystems operate under contractual, regulatory, and intellectual property constraints that complicate collaboration and reliability assurance. To address this challenge, we adopted a structured empirical design grounded in Empirical Software Engineering principles, combining a systematic mapping study, a multivocal literature review, and a participative case study with a global organization. The results led to the design the Supported Integration Approach (SIA) aimed at integrating human expertise, process, and technological enablers. Early findings indicate that the approach improves incident traceability and knowledge transfer among teams while aligning reliability practices with governance objectives. This research contributes theoretical, methodological, and practical insights for embedding SRE practices into PSECO governance, promoting a sustainable environment.
